Gravity will always pull the oil down into the joint, and the low speed of the joint helps prevent dropping/separation. I like to use a moly fortified CV grease. Don't use cheap lithium greases. On my truck being an 03 my boots are all cracked. So in my case i pump until i see clean grease and wipe the stuff that spews out. It is messy.
